What is an Implant Verification Jig?

An implant verification jig(IVJ) is a rigid structure that holds the impression

copings together. This ensures the accuracy of the final impression for

multi-implant restorations. Without an IVJ, such cases have a higher failure rate

because impression  materials are prone to warp.

Preliminary Impression

Once the patient is healed from the implant surgery, the dentist

will take a preliminary impression. The lab will use the preliminary

impression to breate an IVJ and a custom impression tray, which

will be sent back to the dentist.

Final Impression

Finally, create the final impression using the custom impression tray

with light body material between the IVJ and soft tissue. Filling the rest

of the custom tray with hard body impression material. Because of the

IVJ, the implant position information of the resulting impression will be

100% accurate.
